Ultrasonic cleaning uses cavitation bubbles induced by high frequency pressure (sound waves) to agitate a liquid, the agitation produces high forces on contaminates adhering to substrates such as metals, plastics, glass and ceramics.
The action also penetrates cracks, blind holes and recesses, the intention being to remove all traces of contamination tightly adhering to surfaces. Using sound waves to clean carburettors is a far superior method than sprays, chemicals or high pressure air.
